Summer Production:
Ralston Community Theater is holding auditions for roles in its 2027 production. In the Heights is a Tony Award-winning musical (Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography, and Best Orchestrations in 2008) with concept, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes.
It is set over three hot summer days in the largely Hispanic/Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan, New York City. The story follows bodega owner Usnavi and his neighbors (including Abuela Claudia, Nina, Benny, Vanessa, and others) as they navigate dreams, family pressures, community ties, love, and the question of what “home” means amid change and gentrification. The score blends hip-hop, salsa, merengue, and soul

Performers must be available for all performances.
When, Where, and How to Audition
In-Person Audition
- Singing:
- All auditioners should prepare 32 bars of a song from a stylistically similar show (rock ‘n’ roll music)
- Please bring sheet music for the collaborative pianist.
- Dancing:
- Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a dance audition. The dance will be taught at auditions.
- Acting:
- We may do an acting audition at callbacks TBD.
